EFF Patent Busting
In an fantastic display of their freedom motivated spirit the EFF is going after the removal of several patents that are just to broad and vague to be issued to any one entity. Most of these are not just broad but also in existence and widely used prior to the patent application, making the attempt to patent them a ridiculous idea that would stifle creativity. Check it out for yourself and join the Patent Busting.

Adding AJAX to eCash?
Have to wonder what benefits could be gained by rewriting some functions for AJAX. I think that we could make this a more robust app by doing so but the question is, are there security concerns involved. I will have to look into this...

Finished my last C++ class
The test was not that hard, I enjoyed it, but it took me a while to get into the proverbial zone. I hope that it turns out alright, I should have put more effort into the class itself. I also found it hard to transition from work to C++.

Linksys WRT54G + Sveasoft Sattori = WOOHOO!!!
I took back the Dlink bridge that cost $129 and purchased instead a wireless router (Linksys WRT54G), which is not at all what I needed. But I have great faith in Linux and this router is linux based. I was able to download and install new firmware on it to add some features and capabilities but I did not expect to be able to make this thing into a wireless bridge. I plugged it in at home and config'd it with what I thought must be the closest thing to the correct config that I could think of and...

Went out to dinner last night...
We went to Shaw's Crab House and it was the best crab that either of us has ever had. Of course at $92.00 for three including Teegan, the cost of the dinner showed the quality but it is the first time that we have had crab that you were actually paying for the crab and not a pound of shell and 3 ounces of meat. This turned out to be 3/4 of a pound of crab meat out of a 3/4 pound meal... The appetizer was crab and spinach dip with melba toast and house bread covered in olive oil.

I...

I am a little bored today
I put up Tina's door mirror, played with Teegan, and put up a new ceiling fan in the bedroom and now after reading all of the stuff that Mr. Torronne is up to at flashenabled.com I am finding that I am becoming very domestic and not pulling my geek-weight...

Oh, last night I finished bridging my wireless network up to the Hauppauge MediaMVP via Dlink G810 wireless bridge, but it keeps dropping out and I have decided that I will have to run ethernet to get good vid.

Worked all day yesterday...
I was working on the basement, painting it with white Latex "Water Block" as well as Zinsers Perma-White and some concrete stain (white also) but it does not look that much brighter. I changed all the bulbs out down there from the 60watt variety to the 100watt Phillips Natural Light variety and that made a big difference but I want to do more to finish the look at least for the party. I still have to was the floors and do something with them. I don't know if I should lay carpet yet or not because...

Is there a future and where is it?
The future of humanity depends on one of two things, either we transition the focus of the species to one of survival outside of our current world and on other planets or we realise that our species and the human mind itself is fataly flawed and look to persistent and durable means for carrying on the legacy of humanity such as self-sustaining and self-replicating robots or yet to be seen nano-technologies.

While this may seem bleak to those that are comfortable and happy within their...

Work to do....
Had fun in Orlando last week but it seems that I enjoy working in Arlington Heights much more... I like Florida but the people there appear strained every time we see them. Oh well... Now it is back to the fun.

Leaving the office for dinner.
Leaving to a thankfully boring evening since everyone skated on us instead of going out to dinner... Odd thing that. Ed had seemed excited to go to Vitos and now it seems that he has forgotten.
